National AHEC Week in Indiana celebrates The Next Generation...Meeting

Remarkable Partners
The day’s celebration closed as
conference committee chair Joni Albright and Indiana AHEC program
director Rick Kiovsky recognized the many individuals who have
contributed to the first seven years of AHEC program success, including
early project supporters Ken Sauer (Indiana Commission for Higher
Education), early program directors Professor Steve Jay and Executive
Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development Steve Bogdewic, and Executive Associate Dean Steve Leapman (all of
IU School of Medicine). Kiovsky announced the kickoff of the first-ever
Indiana AHEC Annual Campaign and thanked Campaign Committee members
Billie Breaux and Jeffrey Lindar for joining this important effort.
Attendees also warmly welcomed the
first recipients of the AHEC “Partnership Matters” awards for
outstanding community collaboration, including
Prof. Ernie Talarico, the
Allen County Health Disparity Coalition,
Robert Faulkens and Marty Weyand,
Dr.
Matt Waldron, and
Prof.
Robyn Lugar.
Nancy Jewell was named 2008 AHEC Hero in recognition of her
significant contributions to early Indiana AHEC success. |
