AHEC's in Indiana...
Southeast/South Central Indiana Area Health Education
Center (SE/SCI-AHEC)
Indiana’s third Area Health Education
Center (AHEC) was established in the Southeast/South Central region
(SE/SCI) of the state in the fall of 2003 under the guidance of Hoosier
Uplands Economic Development Corporation. The community-based non-profit
organization has forged successful partnerships within the 20-county
region by creating an advisory board to guide the development of programs
to address the unique needs of the region.
The SE/SCI-AHEC is working to:
- Provide access to continuing
education for health care professionals
- Present health career awareness and
outreach programs to secondary students
- Develop mentoring programs with
academic institutions for college students
